The first thing that you'll notice when you step into the house is that I love 19th Century Neoclassical and impressionism-influenced painters, golden age illustrators, as well as contemporary artists who are influenced by them, including cutting-edge artists working in entertainment and design. Some of the artists you'll see represented throughout the house are John William Waterhouse, John Singer Sargent, Nicolai Fechin, Craig Mullins, Richard Schmid, Syd Mead, Gustav Klimt, Dominique Louis, Jeremy Lipking, Bobby Toomb, Pino Daeni, Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema, Herbert Draper, Jon J. Muth, etc.

I had to cap off the number of art prints just past forty or so, otherwise, the house would look like an art salon. I would have loved to include more artists I love such as Joaquin Sorolla, Anders Zorn, James Jean, Susan Lyon, Daniel Gerhartz, Haddon Sundblom, Gil Elvgren, Harry Anderson--the list goes on and on. Maybe I'll try to include them in the form of regular rotations.

I miss having a little foyer like our previous home, but this new home has things the previous one didn't too, so I guess it's a fair tradeoff.

The entrance wasn't a hallway like this when we bought the house. The wall on the left wasn't there, and that area was wide open, where the living room and dining room was. But since I needed that space for my studio, we sealed it off and turned it into my studio, which you can see a little bit of in the next photo.

The downstairs bathroom is on the right side of the hallway.

Turning around, facing the front door.

Downstairs bathroom is the default bathroom we use the most, since both of us are downstairs most of the time.

I'm one of those people who's obsessed with time-management and productivity in my life, so time spent in the bathroom must be used wisely.
